Configuring Tolka-ADTH tuner
The Tolka ADTH is being tested for potential partnership with Actus, particularly regarding ATSC 3.0 signals.
At this point most of the configuration requires attaching an HDMI monitor where we can both watch the current tuned up TV channel and also perform configuration with the help of a remote control.
Clearly we will request Tolka to enable all configuration to be done by either CLI or Web API.
Configuration via remote control
1. Enable Wi-Fi and wired connections. At this point Manual IP not working.
2. Enable beta version and wait for the firmware upgrade.
3. Go into ADTH Labs and enable developer access.
Channels tested:
- All available ATSC 1.0 channels
- All non-encrypted ATSC 3,0 channels:
- KTLA-HD (channel 5) with AC3 sound
- KTTV-NX (channel 11) with AC4 sound (using FFMPEG-AC4)
- KCOP-NX (channel 13) with AC4 sound (using FFMPEG-AC4)
- Encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels: there are two encrypted channels in the LA market. The tuner is capable of decoding these channels for HDMI but not for IP. This will require further development by Tolka, we are told. The channels are:
- KCBS-NX (channel 2)
- KNBC-NX (channel 4)
